Red Mist

Livewire Joe Colbecks strike three minutes after half time should have put The Bantams on course for an away day victory over their South Yorkshire opponents Rotherham.

Unfortunately a ridicules confrontation between Bradford’s Omar Daley and Rotherhams Graham Coughlan resulted in the Jamaican international receiving his marching orders from referee Mike Thorpe.
Daley could have no complaints about his red card. The Jamaican simply had a rush off blood to his head and his reactions towards the match official were disgusting.
In my opinion the outcome of this game hinged on this one unsavoury incident after a goalless first half.

Bradford second half performance was more constructive after a cagey first half.
Tom Penford was excellent and it was a clever pass from the midfielder which bisected the Rotherham defence for Bradford’s goal.Colbeck received the ball and drilled a right footed shot across Rotherham keeper Warrington which hit the far post before nestling into the back of the net.
Rotherham 0 Bradford City 1
A second goal looked on the cards but Kyle Nix missed a guilt-edged chance with the Rotherham goal at his mercy.
Nix only had to tap the ball in to the net but somehow the ball ended up in Warringtons gloves.
The miss proved costly as Rotherham equalised soon after after a mix up in the Bradford defence.Rotherham player O’Grady pounced to volley home at the far post.
Rotherham 1 Bradford City 1
Bradford played the last 20 minutes with ten men thanks to the sending off of Daley.Rotherham huffed and puffed to make their numerical advantage count in the closing stages of the game, but found City keeper Loach in no mood to assist with another near faultless performance between the sticks.
Final Result.
Rotherham 1 Bradford City 1
