Player Ratings

No one wants to read huge, in-depth analysis of the players. Let’s try to do it in 140 characters.

If you want to contribute to the player ratings in future weeks message me @VitalBradford with your 140 character review.

Eastwood – 8
Made some fantastic saves and good on crosses. Granted a couple of moments didn’t breed confidence but on the whole solid.

Bateson – 6
Another appearance and another clean sheet. Got forward well but could have done more with his crossing.

Rehman – 7
Very solid at the back with some fantastic tackles and some great distribution from the back.

Williams – 6
Competent performance from the Barber from Bamber Bridge. Unhurried and sensible.

L O’Brien – 8
Saved the game with a goal line clearance. Put the icing on another assured performance both at the back and going forward.

Neilson – 6
Put in a good shift, didn’t get much reward but worked hard.

Flynn – 7
Another commanding performance from Flynn. Looked like he enjoyed himself.

Bullock – 8
Immense. Played the perfect holding role. Laughable sending off, my Man of the Match.

Brandon – 6
Much better than against Crewe. However, slow decision making and often took the wrong option in the end

Evans – 8
Scored the goal that won the points and worked hard. Official MotM.

Hanson – 7
Did what was asked of him without looking spectacular. Kept off the scoresheet by an incredible save late on.

J O’Brien – 6
Came on and looked tidy but didn’t have long before Bully was sent off and the momentum of the game shifted.

Agree with your assessment of Bullock, very unlucky to be sent off, no argument with the 1st booking it looked to me as he was doing a Maradona & trying to punch Williams header goalwards in a moment of uncharacteristic madness (Williams should have buried the free header anyway) but the 2nd was very harsh – a slightly tired (understandably) & mistimed tackle with no malicious intent & not worthy of a booking particularly when it resulted in a sending off. Can’t see an 8 for my mate Liability Luke though, his crossing was poor apart from one good ball for Hanson’s disallowed goal & frequently caught out of position & as for the goal line clearance – he was late getting back to mark his man & if Eastwood hadn’t had dived out & got a hand to the cross to give him time to get back then his man would have had a simple tap in.

Oops, just seen the comment about 140 characters – that’s a bit unfair – 140 characters is never enough to fit in all Liability Luke’s mistakes in a match!!

I know it gives you such joy 🙂
