Just a Warm Up?

The pre season warm up games got off to a shaky start yesterday at Throstle Nest. Where Farsley Celtic welcomed Bradford to their home. We saw the likes of old boys Tom Penford, Tom Harban and Craig Bentham. Plus even Wayne Jacobs and David Wetherall made an on field appearance.

However the reunions were cut short as the first match of the season got underway. With nothing at stake, this was a key time for the lads to impress Stuart McCall, who will be watching each and every person closely through-out the course of pre season.

Bradford City:
Nick Colgan
Paul Arnison
Luke O Brien
Paul McClaren
Adrian Bellamy
Mark Bower
Willy Topp
Lee Bullock
Kory Nix
Peter Thorne
Omar Daley

Subs: Simon Ainge, Jon McLaughlin, Luke Sharry, Kyle Nix, Rory Boulding, Matthew Clarke, Barry Conlon, Milton Turner, Adam Cook, Wayne Jacobs, David Wetherall.
All the subs were used.

The weather was not great at all. The rain came down and it looked like the players were not feeling the flow of things. James Knowles scored first in the 22nd Minute of the game, followed by Andy Campbell (29) and Domonic Krief (41)

The remaining fans who braved the rain were lifted slightly when Barry Conlon converted from the spot after Mark Jackson had handled the ball.

Never-the-less it is still early days and the players will have a lot of time to get their act together before the new season which promises to be a good ‘un!

we’ll have to wait until this afternoon to see what the response of the team is. As for me, this is the last you’ll hear from me til August. I’m getting married this afternoon and so then I’m off on Honeymoon 🙂

It was a game where most people looked a bit rusty & the conditions didn’t help passing or 2st touches. That said, Willy looked lively, McLaren looks a class act & O’Brien looked like he’d struggle to get in my Sunday League side – he was awful but then again I’ve never been impressed with him.
