A minute’s silence was observed to mark the 22nd anniversary of the Bradford City fire.
The tragedy claimed 56 lives on May 11, 1985.
The City Hall bells played You’ll Never Walk Alone and Abide With Me as hundreds turned out to pay their respects.
As well as past and present players Bradford City, the ceremony was attended by a party from Lincoln City, who were the Bantams’ opponents that day.
Councillor the Reverend Paul Flowers said: ‘It was a day of tragedy but also of immense heroism.’
