It says much about Bradford City’s season that Nathan Doyle was named Player of the Year.

The versatile defender impressed fans during a loan spell from Derby.

But after 33 games in the claret and amber, he was signed by Hull in January.

Dean Windass, who is at Hull on loan, picked up the top-scorer’s trophy – even though he hasn’t kicked a ball for City since January.

Mark Bower was the players’ player of the year.

And David Wetherall won the award for the club’s most consistent player for the third year running.

But he told the Telegraph & Argus: ‘Obviously it’s always nice to receive an award but this has been a very difficult season for everyone.

‘The only time we will feel like celebrating is if we do manage to survive.’
