Both players are 6ft 7in – but Ricketts says he can outmuscle the England striker.

‘He’s skinny and I’m big so I’ll bully him,’ Ricketts told the Telegraph & Argus.

‘But he won’t get to me anyway because we have two proper centre backs to stop him. Claude Davis and Damion Stewart will sort him out, so I’m sorry for Crouchy.’

The Bantams keeper is expected to line up for Jamaica as they face England in their final World Cup warm-up at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Ricketts, who has been become a cult figure at Valley Parade, added: ‘We will relish playing against England. We played Ghana in a friendly spirit because they are our brothers but come tomorrow you will see a different outfit, ready and raring to go.

‘No goalkeeper likes to concede goals but hopefully we will minimise our mistakes in the defensive third and we will have a better game.’
