We went into this knowing we had a ‘patched up’ side, but also knew we had to win but an already difficult job was made harder with Bristol City dominating from the off, taking an early lead through Tavernier (17) with Bryan (35) heading home a second before the break.

That uphill task turned into a mountainous one when Ayling (54) added the third from 25-yards beating Williams early in the second half and when Flint (66) headed home number four at the midway point of the second half that confirmed it beyond a doubt.

Tavernier (73) added his second before veteran striker Wilbraham (79) wrapped up a six-nil win with 10-minutes to play.
