Bradford got right back into the play-off picture with a win on Saturday, but a chance to leave this ‘in our own hands’ against Chesterfield was lost when they beat us at Valley Parade on Tuesday.

With half time looming, and a goalless half on, a poor headed backpass from MacKenzie allowed Harrison (45) in and he made no mistake with his first goal for Chesterfield to send them into the break ahead.

Early in the second half Hird had the ball in the net, thinking that he had doubled the lead, but his effort was ruled out for offside…

The best chance that we had came late on, in the last minute in fact, but Chesterfield ‘keeper Lee did well to keep out an effort from Blackpool loanee McMahon with his legs as we slipped to defeat!
