Phil Parkinson has brought in Michael Nelson 32 from Kilmarnock, for a reported fee of £50000.

The 6 plus no nonsense central defender has played for various clubs since stating out in non league football with Leek Town some 15 years ago. Nelson spent the majority of his career with Hartlepool United playing 259 games at Victoria Park.
Nelson is also a former team mate of Garry Thompson, the two having spent a season together at Scunthorpe United.

Reports are that Nelson was wanted to move closer to his family who are based in the North of England.

Nelson lifted the Scottish League Cup last year as Kilmarnock beat Celtic 1-0. Could this be a sign?

Good signing I reckon. Hopefully it is a sign and it’s two cup final shocks in as many years.
