The first team are in action twice this week, at Bury tomorrow night, and the cup kit will make another appearance as City travel to Essex to take on League One side Colchester United in the FA Cup First Round.

There is no game for the reserves this week and they are not in action for a couple of weeks, when they meet Port Vale on the 16th November.

David Wetherall`s youth side travel to Lincolnshire this weekend, as they take on their counterparts from Scunthorpe United

Following the convincing 5-0 victory at the weekend, the Bantams need to follow that up with another 3 points at Bury. Beating Bury on their own pitch would send out a statement that City are back in the mix, but it will take a massive effort, Bury having gone 7 games unbeaten climbing their way into the top 3.

3 wins out of the last 4 is a marked improvement in City`s form and the team are slowly climbing up the league, dragging themselves away from the bottom two. City find themselves 4 points off the play offs, with the next two games being away to teams inside the play offs. The next two games are therefore vitally important to the season and will be a major factor in deciding where we finish the season.

At the weekend, attentions are turned to the cup, as City hope to make an impact as they celebrate the 100th anniversary of the clubs solitary cup win. It also marks City`s first trip to the new Colchester Community Stadium. The tie represents a tough challenge for the players and they will have to be at their best to get anything from this game.

After the Oxford game, Luke O`Brien made the League Two Team of the Week and the club have appealed against James Hanson`s red card. The dismissal, which will see Hanson banned for 3 games if upheld, was seen as unfair by Peter Taylor and the club. Hanson is adamant he didn`t elbow ex-Bantam Jake Wright and will be hopeful that the video evidence is conclusive enough to enable the red card to be overturned.

In the treatment room, Simon Ramsden, Michael Flynn and Lewis Hunt are all still long term absentees and Gareth Evans is still at least a month and a half from returning to first team action.

There was a little transfer activity this week, as Jake Speight left the club for Port Vale. The summer signing has failed to cement a place in the team and after looking good to begin with, has looked decidedly average since. Hopefully his month long spell with the Valiants will be enough of a kick up the backside to get him firing again.
