The Wait Is Over

It’s only the 3rd day of the Transfer Window and we have already had our first bid for one of our players.

Scunthorpe (who else?) – have attempted to take Tony McMahon to them to partner ex Bantam Rory McArdle following an injury to their current fullBack Clarke. Perhaps they feel that McMahon would put in the type of delivery that Rory could thrive on and score goals to take them to the next level, who knows. Whatever the reason is, for now, the bid – deemed unacceptable by Bradford , according to Simon Parker of the T&A, remains rejected.

One player who won’t be leaving in January is Tyrell Robinson. Following his successful first half of the season he has been handed a 2-year deal taking his contract until the end of 2020. This is a bonus for the Bantams as he came as a raw talent with much to learn and he appears to be ticking all the boxes we hoped he would. Hopefully, he will keep kicking on rather than being ‘another Danny Devine’.

One question that could be asked is, if we can offer a contract to Robinson and Lukas Raeder, albeit the latter until the end of the season; have we offered one to Tony? Are we going to have another debacle on our hands like last year?

It’s no secret that we need 3 or 4 players in this window before we consider the possibility of losing Gilliead and/or Hendrie. Hopes are high for both players staying however, stranger things have happened especially at Bradford!

Looking solid so far from the Bantams and much more positive than we’ve had recently… can we hope for a good strong window?
