Magnificent Hanson

James Hanson showed just how much he was missed at the end of last season, when injury saw him struggle to finish the campaign.

Now fully fit and back to his best his brace helped us to a three-two opening day win at Valley Parade against Coventry City on Saturday.

Hanson opened the scoring, with Sheehan restoring our lead at two-one after Johnson had drew Coventry level. Johnson then looked to have salvaged Coventry a draw in the last minute before Hanson struck again to secure the win.

Phil Parkinson was full of praise for the big striker following his ‘textbook goals’ and all-round performance, with him showing his best now back to fitness.

Speaking to the media after the game the boss said: ‘He is now fit again and produced a magnificent performance with two textbook goals.

‘We know if we put balls into those areas he is second to none. His first goal was the result of a great move and for the second he stooped low to head the winner.’

If anyone had forgotten, over the summer and at the end of last season, just how instrumental Hanson was to Bradford then they have been sent a reminder!

This is why he was tied down to a new contract last season….
