Little too late…

You’d think after leaving Valley Parade yesterday, where did it all go wrong? The scoreline, and game itself seemed to be the opposite of our season, dissapointing. However perhaps it was dissapointing due to the expectations we had set our club personally, or maybe it’s due to the lackluster performances as of late from our Bantams, perhaps a bit of both.

The last time City won a game was 5-0 against Aldershot and since that thumping we havn’t captured three points in one game. Many fans entered the ground for a laugh, and to go onto the pitch at the end. But some of us knew that playoff hopes were still, marginally alive, if Dagenham lost.

Save our Stuart poster’s were everywhere, and hopefully the message got through to the Ginger Messiah, who had vowed to leave if we didn’t make the playoffs.

Peter Thorne got the first of the goals, tapping in from Dean Furman’s volley. Rotherham were not happy, claiming the goal scorer to be offside, but referee Andy Hall didn’t see it that way.

City’s top scorer for the season Thorne found the net again on 32 minutes, finishing off a great move by Nicky Law. Thorney could of got a hat trick, were it not for a great piece of skill by the Rotherham keeper Andy Warrington.

Nicky Law got the man of the match award in the end, but for me, Steve Jones. Jones was great all game, keen to impress. He did so and capped off a splendid performance with a goal, the third of the game, after running onto Joe Colbeck’s pass to slot it into the goal.

What followed was what we’ve come to expect, a pitch invasion. Despite warnings not too, thousands of fans charged past stewards and onto the pitch.

Next Season Ambitions
Obviously we’ll be hoping for the playoffs once more. But with all our loanees returning to their clubs after impressive seasons, will we be able too?

SOS
Stuart said he’d leave, but after all the support he got, he’d be mad to! One banner described it well. 6 managers in 8 years, do us justice and stay!
