Bradford have, as the Official Website put it, completed the ‘marquee signing’ of Australian international ‘keeper Brad Jones.

Former Middlesbrough and Liverpool ‘keeper Jones, heavily linked with Championship side Charlton last week following his Liverpool release, has signed a one-year deal with Bradford.

He’ll now battle with Ben Williams for the no.1 spot at Valley Parade but the gut instinct is the 33-year-old would be the more likely of the two to start for the Bantams wouldn’t he? Which would be a shame for Williams however Phil Parkinson’s got to go with the best option hasn’t he!

A no.1 isn’t something Jones has managed to be much during his career though, will this chance with Bradford?

He could make his debut tonight but Billy Clarke wouldn’t be that likely to feature following his damaged knee in the one-one draw with Shrewsbury on Saturday, a game in which he scored of course….

The full extend of his knee ligament injury hasn’t yet been revealed.
