Wrexham travel to Bradford City having won two of their three games so far this season. Their hosts, on the other hand, have lost two and drawn one.

With another bumper turnout expected at Valley Parade let’s hope we can find that winning feeling!

(I’m sorry about the quality of this preview, I spent ages writing one earlier only for Firefox to crash. It’s now very late but I need to get the preview done, I promise it will be better in later weeks)

Vital Quotes:

Stuart McCall, my hero ‘We’re all looking forward to this and just want to get out there and put on a show.’

If I’m as entertained as I was against Macclesfield they’ll have done the trick!

Bradford City Team News:

The Bantams continue to be without Peter Thorne although Alex Rhodes and Matt Clarke will undergo late fitness tests tomorrow to test their suitability to take to the field.

Donovan Ricketts and Nathan Joynes have both shaken off niggly injuries, although I would be surprised if Joynes features after Luke Medley impressed Stuart McCall during reserve team fixtures.

Stuart is more than likely to name exactly the same starting lineup that played Macclesfield, hopefully they’ll stay alert for the first ten minutes!

Ricketts
Williams
Bower
Wetherall
Heckingbottom
Evans
Daley
EJ
Conlon
Dave
Rhodes

Player to watch: Eddie Johnson

EJ has come in for some stick after the first three competitive games of the season. After early promise in pre-season he seems to have drifted a little out of form.

All eyes will be on him as he seeks to impose himself on the game tomorrow.

Hopefully we won’t be able to miss him.

Wrexham Team News:

Wrexham manager Brian Carey has no injury worries to contend with after seeing his Welsh internationals come through the midweek friendly unscathed.

New signing Silvio Spann was not registered to play in time but Juan Ugarte may make a return after being sidelined with a long-term knee injury

Player to watch: Michael Proctor

The former Bradford City loanee has been scoring goals for fun at Wrexham and has already notched up three this season. Expect him to get a warm reception from the Valley Parade faithful and to harass Bower & Wethers all afternoon

Match Facts & Stats

The last time the two clubs met was in a controversial affair on Boxing Day of 2004. Dean Windass was sent off in the first half hour for foul and abusive language after which Steven Schumacher bundled us into the lead. We managed to hold onto that slim advantage until the dying moments when a penalty was awarded and scored to snatch the points from under our noses.

Ref Watch:

M Oliver takes charge for his 14th match in professional football. In his short career he has already made the step up from Conference football (he refereed the play-off final) and last week took charge of the Mansfield, Lincoln game.

So far he has issued 28 yellow cards and 3 reds which strikes me as a nice cards:games ratio.

Match Prediction:

I got the Wolves prediction right but so far have failed spectacularly in the league. Every time I say City will win they don’t. Maybe I should leave the predictions to other people?

My guess, probably a score draw.
