Manningham born Clayton Donaldson has had quite a season.

Finishing as the league two’s top scorer for Crewe on 29 goals, the striker has made quite a prolifc name for himself.

However, Donaldson finds himself out of a contract this summer and whilst a host of league one and two clubs are rumoured to be interested, it could be that Donaldson finds himself donning the famous Claret and Amber strip of his hometown club come the start of the new season.

Crewe manager Dario Gradi first brought Bradford’s apparant interest to life, before newly instated full time Bantams boss Peter Jackson confirmed the news himself, stating that whilst he has spoken to Clayton, Bradford are not the only club keen on his signature and a deal does not look likely to happen in the near future.

Does this show ambition from the boss? Will we be able to afford the lad’s wages? Will Clayton Donaldson be the man to finally help our beloved Bradford City pose any sort of threat of getting out of league 2?

Only time will tell…
