This afternoon sees Carl Boyeson officiating a game involving Bradford City for the ninth time. The pattern of results has something of a symmetry. At home the Bantams have played five times in the pattern Win, Loss, Draw, Loss, Win. Away from Valley Parade it’s Win, Loss, Loss, Win.

P9, W4, D1, L4

Over his career Boyeson has seen 232 games, 103 of which have ended in a home win. Statistically it looks as though our referee will be something of a homer.

However, Crewe’s record doesn’t necessarily support that outcome. At home the Railwaymen have played twice, winning one and losing one. Away from home they’ve played twice as many with the same ratio of wins to losses.

P6, W3, L3.

In his 7 games so far this year Boyeson has issued 13 yellow cards and a single red. He’s seen the home side score 8 goals and the visitors 7.

The East Yorkshire official will be supported on the lines by Matthew Dicicco and Ryan Johnson with Gary Beswick providing fourth official duties.

Can the Bantams continue their unbeaten run? Will Boyeson live up to a reputation suggested 44% home victories or will it be an eleventh game too far?
