Nahki Wells has been awarded for his fine start to life in league one by being named the Sky Bet league one player of the month for August.

The striker has taken to life in league one like a duck to water, the step up from league two hasn’t proved a problem at all with him continuing where he left off last season, banging in five goals in the first five goals on the season. This included him breaking a 50-year record of goals in successive league games for Bradford.

Such has been his continued impact championship clubs looked at him, with QPR strongly mooted as potential suitors.

However, the Bantams got to the end of the transfer window with him still at the Coral Windows Stadium and that is music to any Bradford fans’ ears!

Its great to see Wells acknowledged for his achievements so far in this division, however I’m sure he acknowledges the part his teammates played in helping him get this…
