Hearts were in Bradford mouths when Nahki Wells was helped off the pitch early in the weekend meeting with Shrewsbury.

Without our lethal striker we still went on to win that game late on 2-1, but minds soon turned to Wells and how long he would be out for…

The anxious wait is over with him facing at least a couple of weeks on the sidelines according to Phil Parkinson, but it is far from certain it isn’t going to be slightly longer?

He told the Telegraph & Argus: ‘The scan showed there was nothing really serious.

‘He will be out for at least a couple of weeks but we will know more when the swelling goes down.’

That, I’m afraid isn’t the only injury worry we have though…

Wells will clearly miss the meeting with Walsall this weekend, but he might not be along with another three players having concerns over their fitness.

Them being Gary Jones, who has hamstring tightness, Garry Thompson with an Achilles problem and Rory McArdle, who is still recovering from illness.

These things are sent to try us aren’t they!
