Bradford’s League 1 season continued with a win against Burton at Valley Parade on Tuesday.

What did I say before the game?

The likes of Wigan, Gillingham and Walsall would be ‘willing’ Bradford on to beat league leaders Burton, which happened.

Potentially all play-off rivals but they’ll fancy the top two perhaps more than Millwall and Barnsley who wouldn’t have been so keen on this two-nil win we got….

A 13th-minute, so lucky for Kyel Reid, saw the winger get his first goal since returning to Bradford to open the scoring with the lead extended before the half four mark when West Ham loanee Reece Burke followed.

Tony McMahon did have a late penalty save by Burton ‘keeper Jon McLaughlin though with the win taking us level on points with Barnsley is the sixth and final play-off place, behind on goal-difference alone.

These were the other results.

Bradford 2-0 Burton
Scunthorpe 2-0 Doncaster
Shrewsbury 2-1 Coventry

Literally only a handful of games played, those playing (for various reasons) were looking to make the most of games in hand they had.

Shrewsbury (two-one) certainly did that to give their survival chances another boost whereas Coventry losing this saw them suffer another blow to the play-off bid, which not too long again looked to be a possible automatic promotion option!

A Scunthorpe (two-nil) win over Doncaster could well help an unexpected late push into the play-offs with it damaging to struggling Donny’s season but Bradford (two-nil) are definitely into the end of season play-off pack with the win at Valley Parade against the league leaders moving the Bantams to the brink of a place in the top six.

The Brewers’ loss would have been toasted by the likes of second place Wigan, who could have feared some clear daylight opening up!

Who was the Bantams MotM in this game? That’s what the latest poll is asking so do cast a vote.

Did a starter, or someone from the bench, offer the most?
