Saturday’s official will be Carl Boyeson who is taking charge of his first league fixture this season.

He was in action during the week when he took charge of Nottingham Forest’s 4-0 victory over Morecambe issuing three yellow cards.

In a career spanning seven years he last oversaw the Bantams in our 2-1 home defeat to Rochdale, a game in which I seem to remember he did not cover himself in glory.

On that day Matt Clarke poked the ball home for an early own goal before Peter Thorne tied things undeservedly on the stroke of half time. Adam Le Fondre popped up at the end of the lengthy injury time to steal the points and end City’s outside interest in the playoffs.

The last time he took charge of Macclesfield the result was similarly disappointing with Brentford running out 1-0 victors at Griffin Park.

Both sides will find it impossible to lose so someone’s luck is going to change, let’s hope it’s ours!

He will be assisted by Andy and Bobby Madley, Ossett based brothers in their first league fixture working alongside one another. So, that could be an interesting dynamic to keep your eyes on as we all cross the Pennines to Cheshire.
