Saturday’s official will be Richard Beeby of Northamptonshire in his first League Two fixture of the season. In fact, this is the first time this year that Mr Beeby has officiated a league game outside the Championship (he has taken charge during League Cup games).

The last time that he was in charge of a clash involving the Bantams was during the ill-fated 2006/07 season. On that occasion Crewe were the visitors to Valley Parade for an FA Cup tie, which we won 4-0.

The last time he was in charge of us as visitors, and the only other time he’s overseen the Bantams, we were playing West Ham in the Championship. As you can imagine that was some years ago but it may terrify you to realise that it was only five seasons ago. Perhaps unsurprisingly the Hammers won 1-0.

He will be assisted on the lines by Mr N A Hair and Mr R Lee whilst his fourth official is Mr W Bull.
