What’s the story of the Men in Black for tomorrow’s game?

Two words: Unknown quantity

Referee Steven Rushton may well be taking charge of his 25th game tomorrow but it is the first time he’s been responsible for a league fixture.

Having cut his teeth in the Conference for a couple of seasons he’s been trusted to make the step up.

But it’s possibly worrying news for Bradford City fans. In the 24 games he’s refereed 19 of them have ended with a home victory. Twice there have been draws and only on 3 occasions has the away side left the ground with all three points.

Shrewsbury are tough hosts and the referee is a homer so Peter Taylor’s pleading for patience may well be justifiable.

Hopefully the statistics are just lies and the sizeable travelling Bantams army come away celebrating.

Steven Rushton will be assisted by M Howes and N Murphy on the lines and W Barratt in the dugout.
