After his midweek cup heroics, Peter Taylor has made Dave Syers his newest addition to the Bantams’ squad

Syers has put his name to a 10 month contract that will keep him at the culb until the end of the season. However, should this year go well we’ve got the option of extending the contract for a further season.

Syers has so far played all his career in the non-league with Ossett Town, Farsley Celtic and Harrogate Town so on Tuesday night when the 22 year old saw that ball spilled by Lee Camp the urgency, the drive and the fight he showed to put the ball into the back of the net underpin how hungry to succeed he is.

Peter Taylor’s decision to keep him around came after trials at the club since the middle of July but unfortunately, in keeping with previous pre-seasons, the midfield prospect picked up an injury. Again, like Stuart McCall’s faith with both James O’Brien and Steve O’Leary, Peter Taylor kept him around until he recovered.

Syers could feature this afternoon against Stevenage.

Good luck Dave from all at Vital Bradford.
