Bringing in a striker remains a priority for Phil Parkinson, however the certainty of this being Aaron McLean isn’t now so sure it seems?

McLean remains the top priority but the signing of the Hull striker, which thought to be “close” earlier this week hasn’t come off yet and other alternatives are being explored.

The Telegraph & Argus reports today that the likes of Rhys Murphy are alternatives being looked at.

However, the likelihood of bringing in the Dagenham & Redbridge striker to Valley Parade isn’t though to be that promising as he’s settled with the league two side having returned to England after a spell in Holland.

Oliver McBurnie is someone that Parkinson would prefer to ease into the fold, but if he has to he’ll have no problem with using him again this weekend but a proven, and more experienced option, would suit the boss more if possible as Nahki Wells’ void needs filling.
