Stevenage and Bradford met at Broadhall on Saturday afternoon, with both sides probably feeling that a win was there for the taking.

They had to be content with a point apiece in the end though…

Freeman’s effort on target for Stevenage was the first meaningful effort of the game, with this blocked by the arm of Jones the ref pointed to the spot. Up stepped Tansey (23) and he made no mistake, McLaughlin was sent the wrong way.

One almost became two but Dunne saw his effort cleared off the line by Doyle, was another handball involved? Appeals went up but nothing was given.

When Wells gets on the end of an effort you expect a goal, the Bradford record beater couldn’t keep his run going though as he put an effort over and ended his run of games with goal.

Bradford did level it up just after the break though when Reid (48) curled home a fine freekick.

Had McLaughlin not been at his best in the Bantams net then Tounkara would have won it late on, but the goalie turned the effort away as the game ended 1-1.
