So after a long summer and an average pre season for the bantams, Coventry City were first on the cards to play at Valley Parade for the 2014/15 season.

The Bantams made a huge change to the squad over the summer offloading 11 players and 6 of them being ‘History Makers’ in the 2012/13 season. Andy Gray, Nathan Doyle, Matthew Bates, Louie Swain, ex-captain Gary Jones, Garry Thompson, Kyle Reid, Carl McHugh, Luke Oliver, Matt Taylor and last seasons number one Jon McLaughlin were all among the 11 to leave Bradford this season.

This opened the door to some new faces as Notts County duo Alan Sheehan and Gary Liddle signed for City. Along with Billy Knott and Billy Clarke on free transfers who both impressed very much in pre season. Matthew Dolan signed a permanent contact after a successful spell on loan last season. Shot stopper Jordan Pickford was brought in on loan from Sunderland and former Manchester United goalkeeper signed on non contract terms as well as QPR youngster Mo Shariff.

Coventry City also haven’t been shy on bringing in new faces bringing a total of 13 players 7 of these being loans including Chuba Akpom from Arsenal, Bournemouth duo Ryan Allsop and Mohamed Coulibaly along with the loanees Nathan Eccleston joined from Blackpool, David Prutton from Sheff Wed and Anton Robinson from Huddersfield Town.

The sky blues also snapped up experienced Marcus Tudgay, Shaun Miller who broke Bradford hearts at Shrewsbury Town away last season with his last minute winner on his debut, Jim Obrien from Barnsley, Danny Swanson from Posh, Mike Petrasson from QPR and Reda Johnson from Wednesday.
