Bradford and Ricky Ravenhill are poised to part company.

Chances in the first team have proven few and far between for Ravenhill this season, the former Bantams captain has made only three appearances for us this season from the 11 league games played this season.

Those games have all come as a substitute also…

A player of Ravenhill’s ability, quite rightly, wants to be playing regular football and as he is 32-years-old as well he’s at the stage of his career where he knows it doesn’t have that long to go so he needs to be playing regularly.

Having talked things through with Phil Parkinson the boss has admitted that the midfielder has asked to leave Valley Parade and this request has been agreed to.

Ravenhill also found himself in a similar position last season (not playing), but forced himself back into the team but with his contract expiring in the summer he feels that he needs to be playing regular football now to earn a new deal somewhere.

Gary Jones and Nathan Doyle have been keeping Ravenhill out of the side; with Matthew Bates also joining the club recently on a short-term deal he is another that could be used in the Ricky role so his card has been marked…

Parkinson doesn’t expect it to be long before interest in shown in Ravenhill, again he’d be right as he’s a good footballer that will benefit many a side.
