Rhys Evans – 7
Rhys was fairly untroubled but made some important claims from balls across the box and a couple of good saves, although the plaudits in this game should go to the visiting keeper who had the more to do.

TJ Moncur – 5
TJ had a game to forget yesterday and I would anticipate that the bench bound Paul Arnison will return to the fray at Darlington tomorrow

Graeme Lee – 6
For the first half he was imperious but as the captain Spike needs to be able to deliver a kick up the arse of his players if they`re struggling. And, even though they were playing 10 men in the second half struggle they did

Matt Clarke – 4
Calamity Clarke struck again yesterday as the big guy’s form continues to be a point of concern. I might be wrong but it felt that the two goals came from Clarke`s errors

Luke O’Brien – 6
Not the finished article and needs to spend more time playing with Omar to build up a relationship but the youngster acquitted himself well and played some delightful cross field passes as well as getting forward to assist the front line

Omar Daley – 6
The Jamaican’s international exertions didn’t look to have drained him too much but hopefully John Barnes can give Omar a lesson in decision making. Frustrating in possession and profligate in the box but threatening with it it was a typically topsy-turvy performance from the winger. After sacrificing our lead his showboating towards the end seemed even more criminal that it wasn’t followed up by some actual end product.

Dean Furman – 7
Outstanding once again in competing for everything and providing impetus that was lacking from some sluggish performances elsewhere on the pitch. Faded during the second half when route 1 reared its ugly head

Paul McLaren – 7
Wonderful piece of skill in the build up to Joe Colbeck’s goal, and provided the ball that led to the opener in a tremendous first half performance. However, he disappeared into the mist that enveloped Valley Parade after half time

Joe Colbeck – 7
Joe will be disappointed with his overall performance yesterday but scored a tremendous goal to offset his lethargic passing and movement. On a day when possession was given up too easily he lost the ball more than most, hopefully he will be eager to show Darlington what they`re missing out on again tomorrow night

Peter Thorne – 6
After scoring his tenth goal of the season he faded out of the game and looked to be struggling with a niggle. But he’s in the right place at the right time and so if he’s not quite fit and firing he’s still a major threat. Wasn`t helped in the second half but the most incompetent linesman I`ve ever witnessed

Michael Boulding – 5
Quiet game from Micky but suffered from similar issues to Thorne in the second half but didn`t manage to get on the scoresheet himself.

Barry Conlon – 5
To a chorus of Barry the super sub took to the field of play but the ever so intelligent Bradford City players chose his introduction as the moment to try and thread passes through rather than go for the target man. Wasn`t able to add another chapter to his season`s story

Billy Topp – 5

I fear that Billy’s 7 minute cameo will turn our fickle supporters against him as he struggled to get up to the pace of the game. The fact we conceded straight after he came onto the pitch added a whole extra dimension of pressure to his involvement and that showed in some heavy first touches. Had his first time volley on the turn been struck a little lower then his would have been the fairy tale ending, as it is I hope we get to see him given a serious opportunity to make an impact in Claret & Amber over the next 4 games.
