Parky Pulls Off Cup Shock……… Again

Hanson who has had a tough time recently from the City fans ensured he will always have a place in their hearts, rising to head home a Gary Jones Corner in the 55th minute.

During the first half Villa very the better side and took the lead on 23 minutes when Christian Benteke Volleyed home. City appeared in awe of Premier league Villa throughout the half.

I was apprehensive at half time though my thought was, if I had been offered 45 mins to draw with Villa 2 weeks ago I would have snapped off someone’s hand. Now that was where we were at!

The following ten minutes were end to end, with both clubs having chances. Paul Lambert then rang the changes for Villa, the lost their shape all together and I feel that Lambert made massive mistakes and would not surprised to see him sacked in the coming days.

Villa’s new shape caused bradford minimal problems and the Bantams had the clearer chances, James Hanson had a close range header and Garry Thompson rattle the bar.

Villa got renewed hope with a minute remaining when Andi Weimann got on the end of a long ball to set up a tense last 5 minutes. The inexperience of the Villa team showed throughout the last 5 minutes and City’s problems were minimal.
