Could Bradford build on the midweek win prior when they next turned out in league one? That was the hope, and that was the outcome.

Bradford made it back-to-back wins when the secured a 1-0 win over Milton Keynes Dons at Valley Parade on Saturday afternoon.

It’s not always glamorous, and you’ve sometimes got to dig in and get victories as you can get them and this is what the Bantams had to do with Phil Parkinson more than happy with the discipline shown to bring the win.

The Bradford boss said: ‘You have to win all types of games and MK Dons came here with an extra man in midfield so we always knew they would have more possession, but we played with a lot of discipline.

‘We have scored a lot of goals like that, with our front men pressurising their keeper and back four.’

MK Dons might have ‘dominated for long spells’ but the all important winning goal came from James Hanson, who profited on a mistake from the visiting ‘keeper David Martin.

The striker, in scoring notched his 10th of the season, was praised for his performance by Parkinson that brought him a goal that the boss though he deserved.

He added: ‘James Hanson ran himself into the ground for the team and really deserved his goal.

‘The way he looks after himself away from here enables him to play like that.’
