The outcome of the match against Chesterfield on Sunday, in many ways, is ‘irrelevant’ due to the play-off place already being confirmed by Bradford with the win against Southend last weekend.

However, don’t let Phil Parkinson hear you have such thoughts!

Whatever the result at the Proact Stadium the Bantams will finish in at least fifth place but we could still finish as high as fourth meaning we’ll have home advantage in our play-off semi-final second leg.

A win would also take us onto 80-points, which is a fine return!

Parkinson has told the Official Website we’ve only ‘completed stage one’ of the job with him keen on our regulation season ending on a positive note with him determined to see us ‘maintain our recent standards’ against the Spireites.

‘Stage one of the job is complete. We now want to maintain our recent standards and make sure we go into the Play-Offs in high spirits. We want to finish the regular season off well and then turn our attentions to the Play-Offs. We want to go into them in good form – it is all about keeping standards high.’

It’s taken hard work to secure our top six finish with him adding an ‘exciting end’ to the campaign is also wanted.

‘Everyone has worked so hard to get us into the top six. We are all looking to an exciting end to the season.’
