The league one season continued at the weekend with Bradford in action again, they suffered another defeat though.

Bradford had won a few recently but overall a disappointing run has continued but few would have expected much from the visit to Griffin Park would they? Brentford running out 2-0 winners.

Phil Parkinson was pleased with what he saw from his side and felt that if the Bantams could have held out for ‘another 10-minutes’ they would have come away with something, probably a nil-nil draw that would have been more than accepted.

The Bradford boss said: ‘If we’d held it for another 10 minutes I think we would have got something from the game as the crowd were starting to get a bit edgy.

‘I was really pleased with the effort and organisation we showed until the goal, but we talked about what we needed to do and when we didn’t do it, we paid the price.’

Clayton Donaldson put Brentford ahead with George Saville’s second confirming the points for the home side.

Bradford being without the instrumental James Hanson was a ‘huge loss’ but with him a slight injury doubt Parkinson knew he couldn’t risk him, but was still left please with what he got from his side in spite of the change needed to be made from what he had planned.

He added: ‘We came here without several key players and James Hanson in particular was a huge loss, but he had a slight groin twinge and we couldn’t risk him.

‘We had done a lot of work on the system we wanted to use with him at the top, so it was a loss but I was pleased with our resilience and really couldn’t have asked for any more from the lads.’
