Alan Sheehan was being heavily linked with a loan exit from Bradford once again, with this quite possibly being at former club Notts County, and we now know this is the case with it confirmed on the Official Website on Friday.

Former Leeds defender Sheehan will spend the next three-months with another former side Notts County on loan, which takes him through until Boxing Day with the League 2 side.

Given the fact former Irish international Sheehan has been given permission to feature for Notts County in both the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and the FA Cup this tends to suggest he’s not too likely to have much involvement in Phil Parkinson’s first-team plans even if he does return to Bradford at the end of this loan?

From the minute the defender was allowed to go out on loan towards the end of last season his future prospects haven’t seemed that good have they! He returned, featured in pre-season and did play a part earlier in the campaign but hasn’t featured in League 1 since Gillingham, which was the third-match of the season.

Sheehan spent three-years at Meadow Lane before leaving Notts County for the Bantams in the summer of 2014, with this a move that should be best for all concerned.
