It was a moved that had a degree of doubt surrounding it but Aaron Mclean has completed a loan return to Peterborough United.

Bradford weren’t prepared, as much as Mclean wanted this move, to let him leave on the cheap but finally a deal has been agreed with our league 1 rivals for him to stay with them until January.

Phil Parkinson feels that this will be ‘a good move’ for him with it the move he wanted as soon as they came in for him, which they did as soon as we made him available.

Parkinson was quoted on BBC Sport as saying: ‘It’s a good move and I’m pleased for Aaron. It’s a good opportunity for him to go down there and get some games.

‘Peterborough expressed an interest as soon as we made him available and that’s where he preferred to go.

‘A few clubs came in for him straight away but it’s taken a bit of time to get the deal agreed with Peterborough. I hope he does well there.’

The one thing that we’ve insisted upon is a 24-hour recall clause after the initial first-month so if we’re in the need for him, or his form is particularly impressive, we can bring him back.

In his 33-appearances for us since signing in January he’s managed just six-goals, so he’s hardly been the replacement for Nahki Wells that he was hoped to be, his boots were big boots to fill though!

The 31-year-old is only 10-months into the two-and-a-half-year contract he signed at the time.
