Phil Parkinson had already revealed that Aaron Mclean was a target for one of his former clubs Peterborough United, but also said that he wouldn’t be allowed to go on the cheap.

With him one of the highest paid players at Valley Parade, in fact the highest probably, Parkinson knows that the club want to try to recoup as much of his wages in any loan deal as possible.

The boss said that our league 1 rivals weren’t offering as much as others had but this was the move that the striker wanted, with Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson admitting that ‘questions’ had been asked but also confirmed that his ‘big, big salary’ is a factor….

Ferguson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: ‘I’ve not really explored it to a great deal. There have been questions asked.

‘He’s on a big, big salary there so that comes into it.’

In his previous spell with the club, from 2006-2010, the 31-year-old was very successful and a big crowd favourite at London Road, since that time he’s not really do to much with Hull City and clubs he was on loan with since, and of course with the Bantams!

Ferguson ‘could consider’ him but it’ll come down to money for them too.
