Aaron Mclean has known for a while that his future is away from Bradford but as yet no loan exit has been secured, despite interest being shown.

Clubs in league 1 and league 2 have shown an interest in the 31-year-old with Phil Parkinson confirming that one of those interested in signing him on loan is former club Peterborough United.

That, given they are the club that he made his name with, would be his priority but they’ve not offered as much financially as others have and unless they do it is understandably not a move that we are too willing to allow even if he wants this.

He told BBC Radio Leeds: Peterborough have called us, but Peterborough haven’t matched the money offered by the other clubs.

‘The money side of it is down to the chairman. I can understand why we’d want Peterborough to match or beat the offers.’

What Mclean wants Mclean might not get if it isn’t in the best interests of this football club.

It definitely would, as this isn’t a move that’s worked out for him, be best for our top earner to move on but it wouldn’t make financial sense from our point of view to let him leave for a club that isn’t going to give us as much!
