Bradford’s League 1 season continued with a three-one defeat against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Monday.

A Yorkshire derby defeat wasn’t the way Bradford, obviously, wanted to end the year but that’s what happened as Sheffield United (now five-matches unbeaten) ran out convincing winners with the host strengthening their promotion bid whilst damaging the Bantams’ slightly.

Billy Sharp’s first half opener had two-goals in four-minutes in the second half added to it with Stephen Darby own goal and Martyn Woolford header leaving them in control, Gary Liddle’s header wasn’t anymore than a consolation late on.

These were the other results.

Monday 28th December 2015
Southend 0-4 Millwall
Barnsley 4-2 Blackpool
Burton 1-0 Swindon
Chesterfield 1-1 Coventry
Crewe 1-2 Shrewsbury
Fleetwood 1-3 Wigan
Gillingham 1-0 Colchester
Oldham 1-2 Doncaster
Port Vale 1-0 Bury
Scunthorpe 1-1 Rochdale
Sheff Utd 3-1 Bradford
Walsall 2-0 Peterborough

We see some good wins as the festive season continued with the most impressive being the Millwall win at Southend when they won four-nil at Roots Hall!

Burton, Gillingham and Walsall all kept up their promotion bids with wins over Swindon, Colchester and Peterborough respectively.

Whereas at the other end of the table Barnsley and Shrewsbury ended the year on a high with four-two and two-one wins over Blackpool and Crewe.

Bradford are back in action at the weekend when they head to Gillingham.
