Nahki Wells continues to be linked with a departure from Bradford but he’s been urged to stay put.

Andrew Davies speaks very highly of his teammate (in his column) and doesn’t feel that he should be in a hurry to move on. His chance will come down the line but at only 23 he shouldn’t be in too much of a hurry to make his move.

Davis told the Telegraph & Argus: ‘I don’t think he needs to go anywhere now. The fans love him, the gaffer loves him and the lads really like him.

‘Nahki is only 23 and his big moves and his money will come. Keep scoring goals and it doesn’t matter what team or division he’s at, clubs will be interested.’

Peterborough are one of those that have been linked with Wells, and they themselves have a history of strikers that have eventually moved on from them for big money.

The last of them was Dwight Gayle who left Posh for Crystal Palace for £6m, and Davies went on to say that he felt Wells was far superior to Gayle, in fact he isn’t fit to lace our strikers boots!

I think that perhaps those last thoughts are somewhat harsh, but Wells is potentially a great striker in the making and you’d like to think that he could fetch more than the reported £3m that he could go for in January?

If QPR, most strongly linked with Wells of late, can snap him up for that amount they will bag themselves an absolute bargain.

Hopefully Wells will take the advice of Davies and stay at Valley Parade a little longer, however for that to be the case it’s likely that he’d also have to sign a new contract, and it’s feared he isn’t going to do this….
