TJ Moncur is 21 today and all at Vital Bradford would like to take the opportunity to wish him a great day!

TJ earned the affections of the Bradford City supporters during his loan period last year and when he returned to the north there was real enthusiasm about the prospects of what he might bring to the side.

So far this season his opportunities have been limited and he has found himself deployed in a series of different positions from the central defending role he played last season.

Against Huddersfield Town he was deployed as a winger, against Rochdale it was as a defensive midfielder and on Saturday he was in the position that he been brought in to cover – right back.

Paul Arnison, whose birthday was celebrated last week, now finds himself looking at three or four weeks on the sidelines in which time TJ will hope to cement himself into Stuart McCall’s plans.

Whilst Moncur’s speed and ability from a defensive point of view will shore up an occasionally flaky right flank, Saturday’s performance suggested that we will miss the attacking prowess of Paul Arnison. However, with a week to train alongside his colleagues and prepare for Shrewsbury no doubt TJ will prove a lot of the doubters wrong when Saturday comes.

Happy Birthday TJ, I hope you get to enjoy your 21st in some style 🙂
