After Stuart saying that he was only with us to train he’s only gone and signed Keith Gillespie until the end of the season.

Gillespie has had a long career at Manchester United, Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers, Leicester City and, most recently, Sheffield United. However, the Blades released him in January and Stuart McCall has swooped to sign him as cover for the injured Omar Daley.

Speaking to the official website Stuart said ‘looking at the bigger picture, we have ten games to go which will be a tense, nervous time and Keith has had experience at the highest level.

He has fantastic ability and will be a big addition to the squad.

Keith initially just came in for training and had no pressure put on him. But he is desperate to play, putting himself in the shop window.’

Steve Jones and Joe Colbeck now face competition for their places from Messrs Gillespie and Brandon. Both players will feature for the reserves in tonight’s clash against Barnsley.
