The dust has settled on the 2016-17 season but football never sleeps does it. So, plans are afoot, many falling into place, as far as Bradford’s pre-season preparations are concerned ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.

It will be here before we know it and testers for City ahead of the 2017-18 League One season have seen pre-season friendlies against Guiseley, Sunderland, Newcastle and FC Halifax Town announced.

Bradford will head to Guiseley and FC Halifax Town for meetings with the non-league teams, on Tuesday 18th July (7:45pm) and Saturday 29th July (3pm), respectively.

City will welcome rivals Sunderland and Newcastle to Valley Parade for home meetings, respectively, on Saturday 22nd July (3pm kick off) and Wednesday 26th July (7:45pm).

Of course, as with any pre-season friendly, the main thing to get from these games is a challenge and the continuation of fitness being built up.

As things stand, these pre-season friendly will form the latest phase of boss Stuart McCall’s preparations as he looks to guide the Bantams to success in League One next season, going one step further than the losing play-off final defeat at Wembley last month.
