We were able to secure the services for Oliver Burke from Nottingham Forest on loan ahead of the Swindon trip on Tuesday, with a new date for the meeting with Chesterfield also confirmed ahead of this.

Burke’s arrival, on a one-one loan, was confirmed on the Official Website with the 17-year-old coming in for an instant debut at the County Ground – he wasn’t able to prevent us from suffering a two-one defeat though in the 75-minutes he featured in….

The 17-year-old, who made his league debut for Forest recently had previously played in the League Cup as well, is someone that Phil Parkinson will add as a little something extra that we’ve been missing with his ability on the ball, and the pace he has making a difference.

‘I just felt we needed a bit more pace in the side, and Oliver will give us that. He is young, but he’s strong and can run with the ball.

‘He is very highly fancied at Nottingham Forest and we are very much looking forward to working with him.’

As Burke hasn’t featured in the FA Cup this season, and Forest are out, they’ve granted us permission to use him in our ΒΌ with Reading next month. You tend to think that if this loan goes well in the initial 28-days we’ll extend it further, maybe until the end of the season as it should be a win-win for all?

Also confirmed on the Official Website on Tuesday as the new date for Chesterfield’s visit to Valley Parade.

This was due to be played on the day that we entertain Reading in that afore mentioned cup-tie, this will now be played on Tuesday 31st March with a 7:45pm kick-off time.
