Stuart is quietly going about his business at the moment but it’s incredibly frustrating.

We know we need players and we want to know what’s happening. The club, blamelessly, do not want to divulge everything to the media and alert other clubs to what’s happening (a la Darren Moore).

But it appears Stuart is keeping busy and has already spoken to a number of players.

At the back, between the sticks, we’ve signed Jon McLaughlin from Harrogate Railway and Stuart is also rumoured to be interested in 24 year old former Owl Rob Burch.

In defence he has moved to sign his first choice in Paul Arnison to slot in at right back to ensure we can at least field a back four. The Darren Moore story may or may not come off but does the passage of silent time mean it is less or more likely? Who knows, we’ll wait but we can’t criticise the ambition and effort of the club.

It’s the middle where we struggled last year and apart from clearing out many midfielders from the club we’re pretty unaware of who Stuart is tracking. In has come Bradford boy, and one presumes instant terrace favourite, Chris Brandon whose four years at Huddersfield can be instantly redeemed with a match winning performance in the first week of the season. And that’s where the news ends. We have Joe Colbeck and Omar Daley and now Chris Brandon all preferring the right flank, Nix and Bullock in the middle and noone who currently makes the left wing their own. This then must be a priority.

In attack we all know about our confirmed interest in Michael Boulding, Luke Beckett and also Halifax Town’s Jon Shaw as we look to find out who is going to play alongside Peter Thorne, Billy Topp or Barry Conlon. However, Stuart confirmed to the media that he has spoken to 4 players already and is due to speak to another two. The identities of these mystery three are still unknown, if anyone has any leads, sources, rumours, lies or guesses then come and share them in the forum!
