Vital Bradford reporter Ellis Lee interviews City fan Nikhil Veikara on the ‘Season so far’.

So Nikhil, A great start to the season with two wins out of two and four goals scored.

What do you think to the season so far and how is it going?

I think we’ve had a very good start so far, nobody can ask for more than 2 wins from 2! We played very well against Coventry and could have won by more. The Morecambe game was less convincing but it was great to win and to get through to the next round, lets hope we get a good draw! Also, the atmosphere has been superb at both games which has added to this seasons experiences so far!

The new additions to the squad seemed to have settled in well what do you think of the new players?

So far I think they’ve been very promising. Pickford looked to have very good distribution, his handling was a slight concern but hopefully it’ll settle down as he gets more games under his belt. Sheehan looked strong at LB and seems to have a good delivery from set piece situations too. Liddle was solid in front of the defence and hopefully he’ll only improve as the season continues, whilst Knott and Clarke look like very exciting players and even Kennedy and Yeates looked superb in the new system! So far I think the new signings have looked solid, with a few glimpses of class which means they’ll hopefully improve as the season kicks on!

After Tuesdays Controversial goal at Morecambe do you think that could kick start McLean’s goals this campaign?

I certainly hope so! I think the team lacks a guaranteed goalscorer at the moment but hopefully Aaron can become prolific this campaign. He’s shown in the past that he can score goals at this level and hopefully last nights slice of luck is just what he needed to start the campaign and he can kick on from it! I think if he stays fit and gets good service, Aaron could be a valuable asset this season, although due to his age and recent fitness issues, I doubt he’ll set the world alight like Nahki did!

What did you make to the opening day of the season at Valley Parade?

I thought it was great- a very good atmosphere and a cracking game too! Coventry also brought a good away following which is good to add to the atmosphere on an opening day. The game itself was great and it was good to get off the mark on the opening day with a victory- all in all a very good day for City!

Where do you think city could finish in the division this season?

I think we could sneak into the play offs if we keep players fit all season, as the first 11 is very strong! However, if we do get injuries which we are likely too and if teams work out how to play against us, the lack of wide players could come back to bite us! I’d take a mid table finish and more attractive football for this season, especially if we manage to avoid another mid season horror run like last year!

Walsall away this weekend, How do you think City will do?

I think a draw would be a good result after an opening day win, although its hard to predict individual games, especially so early in the season! Hopefully we will play well again and the new players will look settled in the system. I’d take a draw right now to go with the opening day win and the cup win!
