Bradford have, baring any last minute hitches, completed the loan signing of Matthew Dolan.

The club had tried to sign the Middlesbrough midfielder on a permanent basis last week, however a deal couldn’t be agreed with the championship outfit in time for this to go through before the 11pm transfer deadline last Friday.

All has been agreed for the midfielder to arrive though, which if confirmed in time will allow him to come into contention for the Bantams league one game this weekend and that will please Phil Parkinson who speaks very highly of him.

The Bradford boss said: ‘We’ve been making changes to the squad recently and Matty Dolan will be another one of those when he comes in.

‘Matty will add some quality into the midfield area. He has a good mentality as well. He is eager to learn and eager do really well here at Bradford City. He has real desire to his game.

‘He also has a terrific left foot and the ability to pick out a killer pass. I felt we needed fresh legs in central midfield and Matty should give us that.

‘Matty’s youthfulness and energy is something we wanted to add to the squad. He is up to speed after spending the first half the season at Hartlepool, and we feel the time is right to bring him in.’

Dolan has previous against the Bantams, he was part of the Hartlepool side that beat them 5-0 in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy earlier in the season when on loan with the league two side.
