Following his performance against Preston North End on Tuesday night you wouldn’t have known that Andrew Davies was just back from a long-term injury would you.

Recently Davies would have been seen among those warming up ahead of games but a first-team return after another knee injury, with a knee injury also sidelining him long-term last season, hadn’t been managed just yet.

Having sat out four-month Davies was able to return to the Bradford defence on Tuesday night and helped them keep a cleansheet in the 0-0 draw at Valley Parade.

Given that he didn’t even get a reserve game outing under his belt he did brilliantly and Phil Parkinson paid tribute to him.

The Bantams boss said: ‘To come back after four months out without a reserve game is an achievement. He was just brilliant.’

Davies’ return for the run in last season coincided with a great Bradford end to season, with promotion secured; it would be nice if that happened again this season.
