Huddersfield’s injury woes mean it’s a recall for Tom.

As part of his second month’s extension at Valley Parade Huddersfield asked to have a 24 hour recall. The caretaker boss of the Terriers, Gerry Murphy, has invoked it to take the versatile Tom Clarke away from Valley Parade.

Tom Clarke made his debut in the 1-0 victory over Bury with an impressive performance in central defence. However, he’s been deployed most recently in the middle as part of odd formation that injuries have forced Stuart McCall to deploy.

Signed as midfield cover after the Bantams suffered a spate of injuries he has now returned home due to the injury of those above him in the pecking order. Hopefully he won’t just return to Huddersfield to warm the bench.

Although Dean Furman, Joe Colbeck, Chris Brandon, Lee Bullock and Omar Daley are all still sidelined, Stuart McCall will be boosted by news that Paul McLaren ought to be fit for Saturday’s game against Dagenham & Redbridge.

Unless Stuart’s at home doing a Snow Dance to get the game called off and allow his threadbare squad some time to recover before the busy festive period really kicks in.
