He didn’t, as was previously thought he would be, become our first signing of the summer but Bradford’s second is Blackburn’s Josh Morris with us beating League 1 rivals Scunthorpe to his signature.

Morris should be more than capable of slotting seamlessly into the picture at Valley Parade as he spent last season on loan with Fleetwood where he more than proved his ability at League 1 level and having played at Premier League, making his debut against Man United, and Championship level too he could make the step up.

Phil Parkinson’s admitted that he’s been a long-term admirer so is ‘delighted’ to bring him to the club, his views were shared on the Official Website.

‘We are delighted to have Josh on board.

‘We have tracked his progress for some time and he enjoyed a good season in League 1 with Fleetwood Town last year.

‘He got eight goals from midfield for Fleetwood last season, making him one of their top scorers, and he will add something extra to the squad. We look forward to working with him.’

Capable of playing as a winger the 23-year-old can also play as a central midfielder so Morris also offers us some versatility, which is always welcome but can fill either role as effectively.

Morris was secured on a free but one of the terms of his three-year contract were that we had to include a sell-on clause in his contract that would net Blackburn a cut of any potential future transfer fee.

Another fine addition to the squad!
