Not too long ago Luke Oliver was the Bradford Player of the Year, however today it was confirmed that Bradford have agreed a deal with him to leave the club.

Oliver had been made available for transfer, with his contract expiring in the summer, but no interest had yet been show in the defender but in something of a “calculated risk” Oliver had agreed to mutually depart Valley Parade with immediate effect.

In doing this Oliver would be able to sign for another club outside of the transfer window so this must be in his min as he looks to secure a long-term future with another club.

The defender has struggled to get much first-team football in league one but is still a powerful and commanding defender who should be able to find himself a new club, if he doesn’t it will be a surprise and depending of what the agreement was to release him from his contract early it might prove a risk that wasn’t worth taking….
